travel tips & tricks for mexico

• Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
• You’ll fill out a customs form upon arrival in Mexico—keep it safe, as you’ll need it to depart.
• Mexican Peso (MXN) is the local currency. U.S. dollars are accepted in most tourist areas, but small bills are helpful. We find that exchange rates at the airport are typically higher due to demand. Wait until you're in town or connect with your bank prior to the trip!
• Do not stop at any vendors inside the airport after customs; proceed directly to the designated shuttle area outside. Some vendors at the airport may approach you and ask who you’re looking for regarding your pre-arranged transportation to the hotel. Please do not engage with them. While they may claim to represent your transportation provider or offer to assist you, they are not affiliated with our program and cannot help direct you to the correct service.
• While the resort offers complimentary Wi-Fi, consider contacting your phone provider about an international plan to avoid roaming fees.
• Drink only bottled water and avoid ice if you are leaving property. The Secrets Puerto Los Cabos has filtered water that is safe to drink!
